Welcome to tl;dr, a second hand news-letter of all of the highlights and hot takes of the week that has been, straight out of Slack.
We’ll be publishing a regular garble of the latest in graphic design, codes, processes and most importantly vibe. Have a read below, you’ll definitely like it, so subscribe to get it regularly - direct to your inbox.
#vibe
This channel is for anything super vibey. Which means it’s where our memes and bots live. Patrick shares Spotify playlists here, but who knows if anyone actually listens to them. We do know Flynn’s given this one a go:
There’s a lot of inside jokes floating around and we’re not going to explain all of them, because a. it’s going to end up being a dictionary and b. you won’t get it. But here’s some stuff that might be super vibey for you too – this week we found out that zoom meetings are just modern seances, and enjoyed this article sharing pick-up lines generated by GPT-3.
#graphic-design-is-my-passion
Your weekly dose of interesting design things, but on the internet. This week was mostly our DD Flynn getting all nerdy with some archives on print collateral and the legend that is Hans Hillman. Not exactly ideal for a digital agency to be pushing print resources in our first newsletter but hey, here they are regardless, hopefully, they will help you make better digitals (😖?)

Design Reviewed
Loadmo.re launched this week and will certainly satisfy your digital design cravings. Remember when brutalist websites was a thing? Well it’s like that, but for mobile. It’s great. Thanks to the legends over at DVTK for birthing this piece of internet. You’ll find some classic stuff from Jake Dow Smith, New Company and of course Gucci.

#processes-and-platforms
Talking Always Beta means saying things like dog-fooding and actually dog-fooding. When it comes to the tools that help us all do our job, this is the channel where we break and make processes, it’s a place for the geekiest (not nerdiest) chatter and over the last week there’ve been some highlights.
We celebrated bullet points in Figma, debated brand guidelines and type libraries, while also threatening our development team with the promise of a no-code future.
Here’s the goss – we love fonts, because of course we do, our type library has 1157 fonts added and categorised so far, we’re using Suitcase Fusion and still dreaming of a shared fonts future in Figma. It seems that Sketch have been listening in to our pining calls and reckon they’ve got some grand plans… we wait with baited breath.
Our friends at Figmatic have empowered us with a new plugin, Emailify which has been game changing, so naturally we’ve been talking about eDM best practice and testing, Litmus has been around for a while but it’s something we’re yet to test out.
With all of these potential new workflows and tools decision making is going to be important, so a challenge for us is understanding which are consequential, reversible (or the opposite) and make sure we can create safe spaces for experimentation, thanks Farnham Street.
Let us know in the comments below what you’re frothing about or if you’ve had a play with any of the above.
